Meindl's best selling shoe, the Respond GTX has velour leather and mesh uppers with Gore-Tex lining so your feet will stay nice and dry.
With a cupped heel stabiliser this shoe is a sturdy performer on the trails and its toe protector will keep you safe from any knocks. It’s a great choice when the extra support of a boot isn’t required.
Meindl use their Contagrip Trail sole unit providing optimum grip and an Air Active footbed that acts as a shock absorber whilst allowing your feet to breathe.
Conditioning and proofing spray keeps nubuck leather and suede protected. The boots can be treated when the uppers aren’t quite dry – it ensures they’ll remain supple. Applying a little wax to the hooks and eyelets will protect them from corrosion.

In-stock items are dispatched the same day if ordered before 2pm (Monday - Friday) or the next working day if ordered after 2pm or on a weekend.
Deliveries are normally next working day for orders over £100. If under £100, we sometimes use a 48 hour service. You will have the option to upgrade to a next day service at the checkout.
Special Order items are dispatched within the timescales displayed after selecting your size.
Most orders are dispatched using DPD Next Working Day.
We use Royal Mail for the more remote parts of Scotland, the Channel Islands and Northern Ireland. Please allow a little extra time for delivery in these areas.
For orders under £60, we normally dispatch using Royal Mail 48 with delivery being made in 2 to 3 days. You will have the option to upgrade to a next day service in the checkout.
A tracking number will be emailed to you for all orders over £100 on the day of dispatch.
For orders under £100 dispatched using an untracked economy service, a reference number will be emailed, but you will not get full tracking, only confirmation once delivery has been attempted.
Sometimes you will see 'Special Order' when selecting your size. For these items, we will dispatch once we have received them from our supplier.
An estimated lead time will be displayed for Special Order items.
Yes, returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase so long as it is unused and still in it's original packaging*.
You can return for an exchange or refund. Return postage is at your own cost.

Great walking shoes, comfortable straight away. I haven’t tested them in wet weather yet. Completed a 3 hour walk on a relatively flat area and they were great.
This must be my 8th pair - so comfortable, worn most days, certainly not the best for waterproofness, but very light & wide enough to accommodate my feet - probably last at least 1000miles before wear & tear becomes too much

I like the fit, and the price is right
Have owned a few Meindl walking shoes and always find them comfortable my only issue with the Respond GTX is the lacing, the thick laces make it difficult to lace up easily.

Excellent walking shoes (and retailer). More water resistant than other makes. Well made and very sturdy, so take some time to break in.
Very comfortable walking shoes - my third pair. They seem tighter than previous ones but maybe they will loosen with use. Let's hope they wear as well as previous pairs. Excellent service from Hill and Dale.

Impressed with the initial comfort and the build quality Unsure about the longevity as early days but if they last a3 years I'll be happy: laces seem a bit short and the imitation carbon fibre is a little odd Other than at they are great shoes

Over had these for over 20 years and they mostly been comfortable shoes although the see to crack were the sho bends, maybe because I have to get 10.5 size, instead of 10s as they are a bit tight otherwise.
I have purchased my 4th pair of Meindl Respond Walkkng Shoes; quality is excellent. I use them for work and general casual wear. My older 3 pairs are still in use around the garden.
I love Meindl respond shoes and must be on my 8th pair. Super comfortable and supportive (other shoes give me plantar fasciitis).

Second pair brought, love them
A very comfortable all round shoe for both the city and trails. This is my second pair. The first lasted over 1000km and were comfortable straight out of the box. By the time the sole wore out, the uppers were still in excellent condition. A very robust and well built walking shoe.
These are my third pair of Meindl walking shoes and they are superb. Great service from Hill and Dale Outdoors with regards to supply and delivery, definitely recommended.
